Migratory birds

A few of The Great Cormorant (storskarv) are still here. A month ago, when I visited Öland, a lot of them were already heading south. So, these seem to be late, but they don´t seem to mind.

On the other hand those Waxwings (sidensvans) are early arrivals from the north. Last season I did not see them until midwinter. Maybe all the raining spoiled the food up north?

  1. Hope you have enough food for them if they are that early.

  3. What beautiful photos! I was fortunate to capture cormorants with my camera off the New England coast last year. And I'm wondering why waxwing photos always show them high up in trees! They are so lovely.

  4. Great photos. I especially like the reflections of the cormorants in the water. Migrations are always interesting to watch and document - then try to predict similar ones next year.

  5. :)I liked that too Mick.

I have no idéa of why the waxwing always sit in teh top or trees. But they do. This time it was good. I live on the 3rd floor. .)

  9. I love both images, but I'm particularly partial to the cormorants. Nice capturing one in the water and one out!
