Drillsnäppa - Actitis hypoleucos - Common Sandpiper

The first photo was shot at Strandstuviken where I birded last week. The second two was shot at Djulö Kvarn when I was paddling. I was so surprized as I have never seen any waders there before. Or in the entire lake. This is a residential district and the two birds were walking just in front of a house. I came quite close too, in my kayak. Maybe they did not see me as a human where I sat in the kayak.

All  photos taken in or outside the barn where my kayak is. The first two was taken last week when it was really hot. You could see the nestlings has a hard time breathing. There were 5 of them even if the photos show only 4. So it was warm and crowded up there.
The last two photos was shot two years ago when they nested inside the barn. I had a lot of fun to try to catch them in this position. It was rather dark in there so I needed a flash too. It took me several days and  at least 200 pics before I succeded. :)
