I was lucky to see a couple of these in the forest. They are one of my favourites in winter. Almost impossible to see them unless there is a feeder nearby.

Gråhäger - Ardea cinerea - Grey Heron

These herons is a group of 5, 2 ad and 3 young.
This was yesterday, a very grey day but the grass is still green and lush. But, this is really next years crop.
As soon as they take off you see what´s behind it. The railway powerlines and the city.

Well, first snow was not that bad, but they don´t seem to like it anyway. I don´t have a feeder on my balcony anymore but it seems one of my neighbours have. I ended up with rats on the third floor. It wasn´t that fun so I took the feeder away.
