Svartmes - Parus ater - Coal Tit

I was lucky to see a couple of these in the forest. They are one of my favourites in winter. Almost impossible to see them unless there is a feeder nearby.

Yellowhammer and Great tit

There was finally some action at the forest feeder. Not many species but still. The little Coal Tit was really fluffed up and seemed cold and the Yellowhammer seem to have got "cold feet". Yet, it was not cold, about zero so a bit thawing on the snow. :)

Now it is winter season. The little Coal Tit is back. Glad to see it. I never see it in summer or early fall. Glad somebody has a feeder so I can enjoy it.

Some of the birds I saw last time at the feeder. The Crested Tit seem to be alone. I have never seen more then one.

Two of my favourites was visiting the forest feeder today. But so hard to get great shots of them. It was dark and they move so quickly. I am especially happy about the Crested tit because it seems to be only one and it is rarely visiting the feeder.

They started the forest feeder for the winter so I went there to see what birds had come. Seems like most of the regulars found it. At the lake the mallards and the gadwells took off before i even got close. :( From the tower I spotted a strange looking female mallard. Her front and head was different.
