Brun kärrhök - Circus aeruginosus - Marsh Harrier

 This area belongs to a Nature Reserve called Sörön in Kvismaren
It was a bit strange because I did see a Harrier with this color at the same spot last year. I love the green color tone on it´s under side of the wings. Not sure if it is real though or a reflection of the grass. Some of the males is light like this one, but the book says nothing about green color only brown.

 I took these shots in the end of may as they just arrived back to Sweden. It sang beautifully. This is the male. I did see the female too but she was shy and did not want her picture taken.

A beautiful bird I did not see much of this winter so I was quite happy when I found it in the Nature Reserve Sörön when I visited the place in the beginning of May. It has a most unusual coloring I think.

2 weeks ago I went to Kvismare Bird Observatory to try to find this bird. I was lucky enough to see and hear 2 males. They are decreasing in numbers in my country and very rare here. A new lifer to me. :)
