Brun kärrhök - Circus aeruginosus - Marsh Harrier

 This area belongs to a Nature Reserve called Sörön in Kvismaren
It was a bit strange because I did see a Harrier with this color at the same spot last year. I love the green color tone on it´s under side of the wings. Not sure if it is real though or a reflection of the grass. Some of the males is light like this one, but the book says nothing about green color only brown.

As far as I can tell this is a Marsh Harrier. I took the image in the end of May. A time when they return to Sweden.

WBW Birds this week

Fisktärna -  Sterna hirundo - Common Tern
NF Photo 110506 suddenly a lot of them appeared. Usually there are mostly gulls at that location. So I was a bit surprised.
Buskskvätta - Saxicola rubetra - Whinchat, male

Tofsvipa - Vanellus vanellus - Northern Lapwing

Det är en Brun kärrhök, hona. Nästan helmörk. Man kan ana det ljusa huvudet

I was wondering about this bird. I posted it on Artportalen for input from others. Turned out to be a Marsh Harrier female. :)
