Three species of swallows and swifts in an hour. Not bad in my book. This is three out of four of them in Sweden. The one I don´t have is the Sand Martin. People say they are in my area but I have never seen them. Not as I know anyway.

This particular day the Barn Swallow was the hardest one to catch. It is so fast and flew around my head, too close. And to fast to catch.

But, I had a lot of fun.

I was trying to shoot these guys in the air when I noticed they were very interested in a water puddle. So I changed my view. Not sure if they were just drinking or fetching clay. But the nesting should be over I think.

This was weird. I saw these guys and automatically thought it was barn swallows. But then I spotted an adult swooping by and realised it was a House Martin. These guys turned out to be House Martin Juvies. It is clearly visible where they built a new nest on the old Barn swallow nest. They don´t have much room to peek out, do they? :)
