The other day I finally found a group of Siskins. They have been rare this winter.
But now they posed nicely.  On top, a male, then a female wondering what I´m doing. And finally, try to see them., there are three in the image.

This was a tough birding day. It started out with sunshine. So I went. The mandarin female has been on this location for some weeks but I never managed to see her. Today I was alone and took the challenge to go to the opposite side of the pond. Which means going between a stream and the fence with a djungel like bush forest to cut my way through. But I made it. Still when I spotted her it was through the fence and reed. And the sun was long gone. It started to snow. I had seen a chair in a bush, I fetched it and climbed up. I got a much better view that way. I would not call thee images "good quality" but I got her.

Well, not easy to see that one. It preferred to stay hidden. I had heard there was one about 20kn from my home. This is what I got to see. It is not that uncommon. You can hear it but rarely see it This was the second time I´ve seen it. The white beside it is snow.

Nowadays my world is just grey, grey and more grey. And lots of  snow has fallen. Walking in teh middle of the day and the wold is slightly blue and black. Today I finally heard the waxwings. Looking around I found then in the top of a birch. I manage to snap an image with the little camera I have before they took off. They landed in another treetop 200m away. And stayed put for a while so I got a shot in that tree as well. But in this weather I can´t see any colors so I posted an image from three years ago too. The last time I saw them up close.

BirdArt meme?  A question!
Now, I have been thinking of opening a meme for Bird Art so I took the images from today and played around a little. The first one is filter Conté Crayon with canvas texture in PS CS5 and the second one is black and white abstract.
If any of you are interested in a BirdArt meme please tell me. I need at least 10 people to get started.
