It is very dry here now. Every pond is drying out. Where the sandpipes walk ducks usually are diving. Soon there will be no water left.

The water is very low right now so vaders start to come here as other places are all dried out. I had to make my way through all of the reed below the field,  to get to the water edge.

A wader I see sometimes in small numbers. But it usually visits every year.

Passing by this land yesterday I realized we had a brand new lake. It had been raining a lot and the land was filled with water. Not sure the farmer liked it but the birds did. The first of the vaders I´ve seen was there and some greylag goose and gulls. And to me, it was a nice surprise :)
And in the nearby pond I found a Moorhen. I hope it will stay.

They are already heading south but not in much hurry. They can even stay a while at this little pond behind a barn.

Only one bird on the location. I think it is a juvenile. I did see one a couple of times 4 weeks ago before my trip to Hawaii so this bird has been there alone for about 5 weeks. If it is the same and I think so. All other birds has left except for mallards so it seem strange to see one vader.

Vissa individer får mer gult i sina gröngula ben under
häckningstiden.
Dessutom är just mjukdelarna mer färgvariabla än fjäderdräkten.
Helt klart en grönbena"

I was asking an expert from Ottenby what bird this was. Here is his answer:
" It is a Wood Sandpiper. It has already the breading plumage wichd is different from the winter plumage as msot wood sandpipers still have during migration. Soem individuals gets more yellow legs during breeding times. And the plumage is more colored.
