a male and probably a young

The water is very low right now so vaders start to come here as other places are all dried out. I had to make my way through all of the reed below the field, to get to the water edge.

Skata - Pica pica - Common Magpie

This must be a juvie. It is brown in it´s head and neck and they shall be black. Never seen one this brown before.

It is only the third time I see this shrike and I only have 3 shots. :) So I was happy to see it flying around.

Gråhäger - Ardea cinerea - Grey heron

A new arrival this week. I saw 3 of them and the one to the right just picked up some big rat or something. So now I know what it looks like when they eat them.

Storskrake - Mergus merganser - Common Merganser hane - male

This male was swimming alone with the company of about 200 mallards. :)

Last friday was one of those boring days. Grey and rain now and then. Did not have much to do so took the car for a trip around the area. And.. you know what? I did find some goodies.I had a difficult time to choose among these and the post before it. I am rather proud of the Northern Wheatears I posted in there.
