Four chicks swimming and one taking a ride. And all of them sleepy.  ☺
This was a treat, I have not seen them before.

Mute swan and juv whooper swan

This was weird somehow. I did see the young whooper swans but no adults. Then there was adult mute swans. In the first image the mute swan is swimming really fast towards the young whooper swans. I thought, there is trouble going on soon as the two swan species don´t really get along. But luckily nothing of the sort happened. :)

They are gathering and preparing for the trip south again. 
I think they will leave early as the waterlevel is still too low.

 Mute Swan with 3 young appeared suddenly in the lake.  The pair has been here for three years during spring and summer and had no offspring before. So I was delighted.

There are still only a few birds in the lake. Not at all the amount of migrating ducks there used to be. Maybe because the lake don´t have all that green stuff growing this year. The birds has nothing to eatand continue south.
A few juvenile Crested grebe still there and a Crow hunting for fish? Never seen that before. Is it common? Anyone know?

I was surprised when I arrived to the lake a couple of days ago. I was expecting graylag geese. Instead there was about a hundred mute swans and one whooper swan. And a few ducks here and there. The swans usually gather here but not this early. Does that mean the breeding was not successful? I did not see any young birds in the group. Anyway, it was a beautiful sight. And a lot of action in the group too.

I was out to Lake Näsnaren the other day. I was rather dissappointed that day. When I arrived I managed to get one shot of the Gadwalls before they took off. There was many ducks on the lake but most od them were mallards and they were on the other side of the lake where you have no access. The shot above was taken with my 500mm lens so it was hard to tell what ducks actually was there. But the sound of the quacking indicated lots of Mallards. Ducks often stops here for a few days on there way south to where ever they spend their winter. .

Finally some ducks are arriving on their way south. So far they are very few. I do hope there will be more. If not there is serious trouble somewhere.

Domherren satt i en trädtopp utanför mitt fönster så det var trevligt. Gråsiskorna härjade vid en al vid strandkanten på Näsnaren. De såg ut att ha lite problem med "skridskoåkning".  :)
The Bullfinch sat in a treetop outside my window, looking  good. The Redpolls was playing around below an Alder tree at lake Näsnaren. They seemed to have some problems with "skating". :)
