I rarely point my camera at the Jackdaw but this adult with a hungry, begging, juvenile was fun to watch. :)

Råka - Corvus frugilegus - Rook

Råkan har vi ju i sydsverige. Så jag hade inte sett den förut även om det är en vanlig fågel där. Jag ville ju ha bilder för bloggen men vår guide ville inte stanna bussen för en så vanlig fågel. Det tog 3 dagar för mig att få några bilder. Det är ju en fågel som trivs i samhällen och den var inte där vi var med gruppen. Men här är några bilder i alla fall.

This is a bird belonging to the crow family. We only have this bird in the southern part of Sweden so I had not seen it until I visited Falsterbo. But there it is a rather common bird. Which gave me some trouble. This bird did not go to the places we went with the group. It is a "city-dweller" I guess. And the guide did not want to stop the bus because of that common bird. But it is only common at that location. It took me 3 days to get some shots. I would have been pissed if I did not get a shot for the blog. Going home without a shot of a common bird? It happened to me twice before and I did not like it.

I think it is a great bird, just check out the beak!

This little guy was a very nice acquaintance. It was not afraid of people. It found us and followed us. And for once, it was not hard to get good shots. This spices is known to steal your lunch. So, as we arrived at the lookout tower the bird arrived too. And, like magic, so did a lot of sandwiches. Of course the bird was happy steeling all ham it could get.

This is from the trip to the mountains, in northern Sweden, I did in June. It belongs to the crow family and is a new spieces to my birdlist.
