Stjärtmes - Aegithalos caudatus - Long tailed tit

In the last image the pair seem to say "can´t you see we are building a nest, leave us be will you".
The images is taken in a Nature Reserve outside my town. It is about old nature features. The Long tailed tits was gathering feathers laying on the forest floor. Probably from a Blue Tit.

A visit to the forest the other day gave me a rare sight. The whole family of long tailed tits visited. I think it was 8 or 9 of them. And I could enjoy them for about 10 minutes  :)
Looking at my images I can see their colors give a very good camouflage. But, their sound always gives them away.

 Met a small family of Long Tailed Tits when I was on my way to the supermarket. It was already darkening but I manage to capture this little curious one. It obviously is curious about me and what I am doing.

Some days everything works so well you almost get stunned. I did not se many birds but things that I liked.  The Long Tailed Tit was searching for food right in front of me. At least for a minute. And then the Blue Tits was playing around with each other. This is a pair I think. The darker one the male. Checking each other out. The swans was in the lake about 10 min walk from the location of the others. This is probably a family where the youngsters just got their adult plumage.

This is a rather common sight, yet it made me smile. It is impossible to stop at that bridge without the mallards coming marching to you. Hoping to get bread or whatever people feed them with.

This is my last post for a while. I am leaving to Arlanda airport on Wedneday. Beginning my birdingtrip to Costa Rica. I´ll be gone about 3 weeks with travelling days. When I come back I hope to have a LOT of shots to share. Both from the birds and from the country.

Jag har läst att stjärtmesarna sällan kommer till fågelmatning då de egentligen äter insekter. Men i år är det tydligen så kallt att de får ta vad som bjuds. I mina ögon är de de sötaste fåglar vi har.

I have read that the long tailed tits rearely comes to feeders as they mainly eats insects. But this cold winter they seem to have to take whats offered. In my opinion they are the cutest birds we have.
