Ormvråk - Common Buzzard

The Mute swan arrived yesterday. And the cormorants are now appearing in larger numbers. Beautiful in their variety of plumage details.

Vårtecken - Sign of spring

First, the Canadian goose has arrived, at least 3 of them was visible across the land.

Then  2 cranes was flying by overhead. And this shot confused me. At the first quick glance I did not know what was head and what was foot. :)

And the coal tit has reappeared to my delight. It survived the winter.

Then I spotted one lapwing and one starling pairing up. But they were too far off to get a shot.

A rare one this week

It is only the third time I see this shrike and I only have 3 shots. :) So I was happy to see it flying around.

A new arrival this week. I saw 3 of them and the one to the right just picked up some big rat or something. So now I know what it looks like when they eat them.

The Magpie is a really hard one. I see it daily. It is everywhere, and yet it has been comletely frustrating to get a decent flying pic of it. But the other day there were about 20 birds together flying around in whatever business they have. That day they were flying directly above my head and finally I got those shots. When you get them from the side they look like darts and no fun at all.

A newcommer at the lake today was the Tufted Duck, a single male had found the way here. I also spotted a Grey Heron. Also the first this season. But it was too far away to get a shot and heading behind trees.

The common blackbird also showed up. Last winter I had them on my balcony, 5 of them. This year they descided to go south. Now they return.

Grågås - Greylag goose

On my walk today I heard the cry of geeze. So I thought I continue to the next lake where they use to breed. And I saw them. There were two of them, greylag goose,  far out on the ice. I say, welcome to Sweden!

Trädkrypare - Certhia familiaris - CommonTree creeper

Today I spotted another treecreeper. But there are no way to know if it is the same as the other day or if it is onther one. At least this time I saw the head. :)

Another bird I have not seen all winter is the gråsiska - Carduelis flammea  - Common Redpoll. But it came today.

Trädkrypare - Tree creeper, playing hide and seek. Refusing to show it´s head. But I was so happy to see it.  The first I´ve seen all winter. At least one of them survived this harsh winter.
