Lets Dance!
The new arrivals did not waste any time. I came to the little wetland and saw them chasing and challenging each other. Mating games I guess. Serious business for them, lots of fun for me. :)

  21. What a cheery picture with all the seals and the birds bouncing about having such a nice time. Not a care in the world other than to mate. That sounds like a pretty nice day for them. Your photos are amazing. The way you were able to capture the movement and the up close interactions is impressive. genie

  24. Tina..wood ducks are small ducks and do sit in trees on limbs and have a claw on their webbed feet. They always use an old woodpecker cavity or nesting box like this. They will fly straight in the hole to get in. Then the ducklings jump when it's time to go to the water. Starlings are very aggressive birds and with their pointy bills would be able to chase the wood duck Mom out of the nest to use it.
