Beautiful. Isn´t she??

2 males, the one to the left is really oddlooking. And not moulting.

The mallard is too common to really give that wow factor. You see them so much you don´t really look at them. But what do you say about this? Every now and then there comes someone different.

This little Nuthatch sat on my balcony. It radiates a little sadness I think. Maybe it does not like this harsh winter that we have. I can´t remember seeing one in this position before. They are usually elongated. (I think it is the right word for it)

May 5th 2010. This was quite interesting. There were about 40 Swifts gathering in this place high up in, I think, an old church. Late afternoon and raining. I could never see what was on that spot where they gathered. I am not sure, but I think the bird in the middle never left the wall. The others came and flew away and came back. Trying to join the centergroup.

I´ve been wondering what they were doing. Anyone that has an answer? Then please tell me.

Well, almost finished anyway! There might still  be some photos to post. But I had to finish this before I go to the next trip or I´ll go nuts I think.  :)

Wishing everybody a
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year

I was quite happy to find this little fella at the feeder in the forest today. I have not seen it for several years now. Sadly enough it was rather late so the light was bad. But I am glad I got some shots of it. :)

The bullfinch is a very nice guest in winter. I have never seen them in summer time. Yet they should be in Sweden even then. Probably deep in the forest.

It was not easy to get a good shot of the Jay as it was huddling high up in the snowy tree.

Blåmes - Parus caeruleus - Blue tit

Checking the surrounding, is it safe? Somebody watching? Yea, a woman, but she does not count.

Did I store any food here?

I save it for later.

The color is pretty strong so this is probably a male. I assumed that he was hiding food for bad times in the tree.

Well....I DID see them

The shots in this post are as lousy as it can be. But I did see the bird. And I know what it is. So, I post it anyway. Just to remember. And there are always others that has better material to find while searching for it.

Birds this week

Havsörn - Sea Eagle. NF Photo 101116
This was the closest I ever managed to come to one of them. But I still don´t have a ground shot. They left because there was nothing more to eat but bare bones. Yes, I checked when they were gone.

Turkduva - Streptopelia decaocto - Eurasian Collared Dove.  NF Photo 101119
I was out for a walk the other day. Close to home I spotted this dove sitting on the antenna. It was nice because it is the first time I have seen it in Sweden. So now I have 145 species for Sweden on my blog. And a total of 174 for Europe.  :)
Domherre - Bullfinch

These bullfinches visited my balcony for the first time this season. I can see 5 on the flowerbox and two males in the trees behind it. This is also unusually early.
