A moulting male to the right and one that seems to be a hybrid of Mallard and Merganser.

The mallard is too common to really give that wow factor. You see them so much you don´t really look at them. But what do you say about this? Every now and then there comes someone different.

ReplyDeleteI so enjoy the mallards around here. Love the golden mallard, I've never seen one and, YES, she is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteGolden Mallard? What a find and great shots. Boom & Gary of The Vermilon River, Canada.
ReplyDeleteGreat looks! I especially like the last two, maybe because they're so different from our usual fare. Your eye and your imagination are equally excellent. ;-)WBW
ReplyDeleteLovely birds, and so often overlooked, as you say.
ReplyDeleteI can still say easily wow. I just love their colours and their 'personality' :)
ReplyDeleteLovely shots as usual, especially that golden lady and the tail feather :)
yea, I love the golden one too. She is special. Thanks for visiting.
ReplyDeleteI agree about the something different! I simply enjoy watching all birds! If I find differences in the most common varieties, that is a wow factor! You have done just that! Great photos!
ReplyDeleteWonderful shots of the variety of Mallards. I had never heard of a Golden Mallard before. She is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI love the flight photo. It looks like a painting - wouldn't mind having it on my wall. Nice post!
