Nötväcka - Sitta europaea - Eurasian Nuthatch
NF Photo 101225
This little Nuthatch sat on my balcony. It radiates a little sadness I think. Maybe it does not like this harsh winter that we have. I can´t remember seeing one in this position before. They are usually elongated. (I think it is the right word for it)

It is a cute Nuthatch, it reminds me of the Brown headed Nuthatch seen here. Wonderful photos.
ReplyDeleteYes, I think elongated IS the right word. I was about to comment about how the nuthatches around here look a lot different, but this little one is maybe just trying to keep warm?
ReplyDeleteVacker fågel!
ReplyDeleteNu hoppas jag inför det nya året få några "nya" fågelarter i min lins, får se hur det går!
Ha det gott! /Bea
Beautiful shots of the Eurasian Nuthatch. I think all birds look a bit fluffed up this time of year. It keeps them warm.
ReplyDeleteMarvelous pictures! He does look sad -- in the top picture especially. If he is the same as the nuthatches I see when we are in Oregon, he usually would be climbing up and down a tree trunk -- and elongated would be a good word for him then! Thank you for sharing.
ReplyDeleteHe does look sad but beautiful at the same time.
ReplyDeletePretty little bird. Love the lighting in the 1st shot!
ReplyDeleteSweet shots! I love the way the nuthatch always twists his head :)
