This is a behavior I have not noticed before. The adult took a white feather from it´s belly and gave it to the young who ate it. The behaviour is mentioned in the Swedish part of wiki. It is also mentioned on What Bird but the function don´t really seem to be known.

ReplyDeleteI love the photo for the very clear detail of the red eyes, even in the young. I haven't heard of a bird or a fowl with that behaviour too, that is amazing, maybe endearment or bonding, haha!
