Skäggmes, hane - Panurus biarmicus - Bearded Reedling, male
NF Photo 130922 Hjälstaviken

We were 19 women from the network Rapphönan that was t Hjälstaviken to look for migrating birds. I decided to join in because I wanted to see this bird even if it is not migrating. Sadly I only saw one male up close and briefly, three flying over the path. I would have loved seeing a family. This bird is not common in Sweden. There are only a few places where they stay.

  2. I don't blame you for joining in to see this bird. I would be happy with seeing the male, but, of course, I don't know what the female looks like so I don't know what I am missing. He is simply gorgeous ... the coloring is subtle and yet bright in the contrasts ... there are so many birds in this world that we never get to see. Thank you for bringing this one to us ...

  8. Fantastic shots of this beautiful little bird. don't like the B&W shot as there is more texture shown on the wood which distracts from the bird. The bird (in my opinion) should be the focus.

  22. Vad läckert att den svarta fläcken framträder så tydligt i det svartvita fotot! Blev mycket snyggt och lite grafisk känsla.
