Småskrake - Mergus serrator - Red-breasted Merganser

This is a merganser I´m not spoiled to see. I have only seen it twice. So I was happy. Only sad it was an overcast day and raining and I could not move closer either.

Always lovely to see these beautiful birds.
ReplyDeleteYou are one up on me ... I have seen them once as they passed through during spring migration. I was lucky to spot them on the lake. They were too far out to get good (printable) pictures, but I was able to zoom in digitally to identify them. Even at that distance, I was thrilled, as I am sure you were.

I don't know ducks very well...but am pretty sure I haven't seen these beauties in real life. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteGreat birds, I have seen it only one time and without camera.
ReplyDeleteI know I have never seen them, but they are so pretty swimming there in the water.
