Lots of cranes are gathering now. They seem to thrive in Sweden nowadays. 15 years ago I rarely seen any. Now they are common. Probably because there are more wetland now. I wish I had the sound for the last shot. :)  You can´t miss a crane. You hear them.

  3. How blessed you are and they are to have a safe home with wetlands that allow them to thrive. I hear you on the "sound of the cranes" ... that is how I locate mine as a rule :). Wonderful pictures, Monica ...

  6. I've only seen this crane ONCE in the US and they seem to be popping up a bit more each year. Great birds! They are larger than our Sandhill Cranes. Both of these cranes see to have been growing in numbers.
