Storskrake - Mergus merganser - Common Merganser/Goosander
NF Photo 120519, Åkforsåns utlopp
This little family saved my day. Hardly any birds anywhere and then I spotted theese in a distance. And luckily they swam my way. They were so fun to watch as they swam upstreams. When any of the hatchlings slacked behind it started to run on the water to get to mom, then jumped up on her back. You should have seen them running the watersurface. So fun. The only bad thing is they were on the other side of the stream so I could not get a closeup. :)
Taltrast - Turdus philomelos - Song Trush
Grå flugsnappare - Muscicapa striata - Spotted Flycatcher
Sävsångare - Acrocephalus schoenobaenus - Sedge Warbler

I found the song Trush and the Flycatcher in the forest and the Sedge Warbler sang loudly in the reed and bush at the water edge.

ReplyDeleteThe Common Mergansers migrate through our area every spring, but I have never had the privilege of seeing their hatchlings until today. So adorable and I am happy for you that you got to see them interacting as a family. Thank you for this experience.
