Sädgås - Anser fabalis - Bean Goose

This is one of the geese species that migrates to Sweden. I saw the first ones today. They are only passing through and will continue up north.

I was birding at Hjälstaviken this weekend with a female network called Rapphönan. As it is migrating times we look a lot on the sky. In the last shot, the geese is not really that red. It is the setting sun that is coloring them.

New life to the land

Finally the birds are returning. In this first wave there are Whooper swans and different kind of geese. I have id:ed four kinds of them. They are all so welcome. A few ducks has arrived but not on this location. Here are only Mallards. The greylag goose in the last shot, through the tube, was standing in that position for 2 minutes, at least. Almost as it was frozen.

Gässen är på väg tillbaka. De här sädgässen ska fortsätta norrut.
Birds are returning now but these will continue up north. There wisit are welcome. Bringing new life to the lands.
