Ooops, to close

Fiskgjuse - Pandion haliaetus - Osprey
NF Photo 110812 at Valla viltvatten

I had seen this Osprey earlier when it was leaving the little wetland. I was looking elsewhere and did not see it coming back. I guess I reacted to the splash from the dive and turned to shoot. And had the bird coming right at me from behind the reed.  Instinctly I pulled the trigger and this is the actual shot. SOOC as they call it. Too bad I did not catch the entire face. That would have been cool.

Here I had time to turn around. It is not perfectly sharp but you can see the big fish it is holding.

And then it headed away to another bird high up in the air. Maybe a juvie.

  12. Now that is what I would call a bird on the wing. It may not be what you intended to catch but is is a good one none the less.
