Snösparv - Plectrophenax nivalis - Snow Bunting

Today I was lucky, came really close to these beauties. :) Not easy to spot unless you see them in the air. I counted 12 of them this time. I was able to get rather close to them so it was a nice birding obs.

  4. Beautiful in breeding plumage. The Snow Buntings I have seen in Illinois during the winter had much more brown coloration. Very nice photos!

  13. I am just smiling to see your photos of these endearing birds. Their soft rounded heads and bodies are just so appealing and I admire their markings so much--esoecially the golden yellow. Do they keep these same colors in the summer?

  14. The Snow Bunting is a little darker in summer. But not much.
