Stripgås - Anser indicus - Bar-headed Goose
NF Photo 130712, Strandstuviken

This day I went to the coast and one of the bird protection areas.  I wanted to see some birds for a change. And there were rather much of geese. Among them was one Bar-headed Goose swimming with the Canadian goose. I was lucky to see it as it was a lifer for me. But sadly it was to far away to get good shots. I never could see it up front, mostly from the back as they swam out and away from the beach. Still, it was a lifer. :)

They are not native to Scandinavia. Might be a runaway from a park. The official system for handling birds in Sweden did not count it as a Swedish lifer. Too bad!

  8. Nice goose - But I think you could be right in saying it has escaped from a park or a collection.
