This one should be a male because I can see a patch of red on it´s head. Seems like he wants several homes to chose from. Maybe the lady is picky :)

I finally got to see this one up close. It is only the second time I´ve seen it. This is a female. She came to a feeder about 10 min from my home.  It is our smallest woodpecker.

Jag har hört den här förut, sa de i fågelklubben, men jag har inte sett den förut. Ett nytt X idag.

I have heard this one before, but never seen it. And now I got shots. It is our smallest woodpecker and rarely seen. So, I was lucky. Why is it that peckers seem to jump instead of fly? This one is clearly jumping.  I saw that same behavior once in Costa Rica too. :)
