It is only the third time I see this shrike and I only have 3 shots. :) So I was happy to see it flying around.

A new arrival this week. I saw 3 of them and the one to the right just picked up some big rat or something. So now I know what it looks like when they eat them.

This male was swimming alone with the company of about 200 mallards. :)

Wonderful birds, The shrike is a cool looking bird. Awesome capture of the heron with its dinner.

ReplyDeleteIt look as if the shorebirds and waterbirds are now returning to you. Ours are disappearing on their migration quite fast. Oh well, our loss is a gain for the northern hemisphere!

Nice variety of birds. I really like that Great Grey Shrike, it looks a lot like our Loggerhead Shrike in the US. The heron with the rodent is an awesome shot too!
