Fjällripa - Lagopus muta - Rock Ptarmigan

I wanted to get closer to this bird but had a lot of snow between myself and the bird. The guys in the group said I should not worry about that, we were to see lots of them later on. And I could get my shots then. I guess the birds was not noted. This one was the only one we saw. It is a male in spring plumage.
